Project Context
Brief
IKEA needs a few crafting tools created for them, including a pair of scissors, a box cutter, and a hot glue gun. Leveraging their VBL, sketch out several concepts, CAD model them, 3D print and prototype as necessary, apply CMF.
Research Insights
Soft blue touchpoints, pill-shaped elements with a minimalist geometric form, textured grip surface, and a glossy embossed logo.
Design Challenges
Maintaining a cohesive brand identity across the product line, subtly integrating design elements without compromising the minimalist aesthetic, and iterating on the geometric form to balance the shape languages.
