Project Context
Brief
Your design will develop from focused research on bird species. Essentially, the bird is your client. Your goal is to design and fabricate a dwelling for your client. You will develop a narrative around your bird and their need for a home. This narrative may be fanciful or literal- either way, develop your design based on acquired knowledge and factual conditions related to your subject.
For my birdhouse, I chose the downy woodpecker as my client, referencing the fact that their tongues wrap around their brains with my design.
Objectives
Meaningfully analyze and interpret conditions and qualities found in research subjects impacting designed form development and process related decisions. Demonstrate an understanding of compositional organization, material and process relationships, and your ability to use their influence on one another strategically.
